What is a Safety Light Curtain? A safety light curtain acts like an invisible laser barrier, consisting of pairs of infrared emitters and receivers. When a person or object enters the light curtain area, the beam is blocked, and the device stops within 0.1 seconds. This non-contact protection is commonly found in hazardous areas such as presses and robotic arms, offering greater flexibility than traditional physical barriers.

 

Why is it considered a safety device?

Precautions for Use: Even reliable safety light curtains require proper maintenance: Regularly clean the optical windows to avoid dust interference, ensure there are no blind spots during installation, and use in conjunction with safety training. Like a car seatbelt, it's the most important form of protection, but it cannot replace proper operation.
